Grey Matter Psychology is an online Psychology practice, created with the mission to provide accessible support to individuals and professionals looking to elevate their practice and create lasting, meaningful behaviour change.

Grey Matter Psychology was founded in 2025 by Cherie Tranter (Clinical Psychologist).

Cherie completed a Master of Clinical Psychology through the Australian Catholic University in 2019.

Since this time, she has worked as a Clinical Psychologist within a private practice in Sydney, focusing primarily on supporting children, adolescents, their parents and carers.

Cherie also has experience within inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, working in child protection and out of home care, and in the disability support sector.

THERAPY & PSYCHOLOGICAL INTERVENTION

Cherie aims to support individuals to create meaningful change, by setting goals, identifying barriers, and supporting them to overcome challenges as they arise.

Cherie strives to create a therapy & intervention space that is culturally responsive, person-centred, and grounded in respect, compassion, and a belief in both acceptance and change.

SUPERVISION

A Clinical Psychologist and Board-Approved Supervisor, based in Sydney NSW, Cherie has experience supervising Provisional Psychologists undertaking the 4+2 and 5+1 pathways, as well as Clinical Registrars and Generally Registered Psychologists.

Clinical interests include assessment and intervention for Autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma, challenging behaviours, as well as parenting and carer support. Additional training in CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, and DBT, allows Cherie to take an eclectic, evidence-informed approach to case formulation, assessment and intervention.

Cherie's supervision style is collaborative, flexible, and responsive to the needs of the individual. By incorporating both directive and reflective elements, she aims to provide a balance of structure and space for personal and professional growth.

Cherie aims is to support clinicians in bringing their authentic selves into the therapy space, encouraging them to develop their unique voice while building competency and confidence in their chosen modalities.
